Yesterday we received a letter from Professor Chris Brink, the University of Newcastle's Vice-Chancellor, who wrote to confirm our Cold Boat project was successfully awarded funding from the Catherine Cookson Foundation.
We are very thankful to The Trustees for taking the time to read and consider our application and for awarding us the full amount applied for. In combination with the ongoing support from Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts, we are delighted to be able to make this announcement and continue work on the creation of a new Poetry of Witness archive. Over the coming year, we're set to deliver an exciting series of student-led activities and events, built to engage local and global audiences both digitally and in person.
