Calling all delegates – English Shared Futures conference app now available!
English: Shared Futures is hosting over 160 sessions, panels, reading and lectures, with around 600 delegates: mindful of both the environment and expense, we are using a digital app for the programme. Using the app, you can look at the details of all sessions and all speakers at the conference, and search for sessions according to themed tracks, session types or speakers.
You can also create your own agenda by clicking the star at the top right of any session you want to go to. This session will then be added to your ‘My Agenda’ folder at the bottom of the screen. (Please note this doesn’t ‘book’ you into a session – the sessions are not bookable and operate on a first come, first served basis. Room capacity is limited so do make sure you arrive in good time for sessions you want to attend).
The conference app has lots of other information in addition to the programme, including the English: Shared FuturesCode of Conduct, maps, the publishers attending the conference, and details of the sponsors and supporters of the conference (Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, English: the Journal of the English Association, the English Association, University English, the National Association of Writers in Education, the Institute of English Studies, the Higher Education Academy, and the universities of Newcastle, Northumbria, Teeside, Durham and Sunderland). We’ll also soon be adding details of the Cultural Fringe events running alongside the conference.
The EventsXD app is supported on the following devices/versions:
iOS: 8+, iPhone 5+
Android 4.1+
Windows Phone 8.1+
Windows 8.1+
For those who won’t be bringing app-compatible devices, we will have posters and screens showing the daily schedule at the venue. Details are also available on the website at www.englishsharedfutures.uk where you can also download a pdf of the programme.
